About Our Nursing Staff

Gayle Bernstein

Linda DeOrio, RNC, RDMS
Linda DeOrio, RNC, RDMS, has been active in the field of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (RE/I) nursing for the past 25 years. She played an active role in the establishment of OBFC and has been the Director of Nursing from inception. She also helped to develop our IVF program and secure Certificate of Accreditation for First Trimester Obstetrical and Gynecological Ultrasound from the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine. Linda received her National Certification Corporation (NCC) certification in RE/I nursing in 1989 and was certified as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in 1994. She is a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine. Her extensive experience and knowledge is a great resource for our patients as they negotiate the sometimes complex treatment plan.

Michelle Pry

Michelle Pry, RNC, MSN, WHCNP
Michelle Pry, RNC, MSN, WHCNP, is the Women's Health Care Nurse Practitioner and has been with OBFC since January 2000. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at St. Louis University in Missouri in 1992, Master of Science in Nursing at Loyola University in Illinois, and certification as a nurse practitioner in 1999. Michelle is a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine and the North American Menopause Society and serves as a member of the nurse's research committee. As a Women's Health Care Nurse Practitioner, Michelle provides comprehensive, holistic care to patients with various needs ranging from management and treatment of pelvic pain to evaluation and treatment of menopausal symptoms. Besides her clinical duties, Michelle is also actively involved in research at our facility. She oversees and coordinates clinical research trials involving new drugs for the treatment of endometriosis and other reproductive disorders.

Jean McMenamin

Jean McMenamin, ADN, RN/Donor Oocyte Coordinator
Jean McMenamin, ADN, RN, is a graduate of the College of DuPage School of Nursing. She joined OBFC in September 2001 as a Staff Nurse. Jean has several years of experience in obstetrical/gynecological nursing. Jean works closely with the oocyte donors and recipients making this process as flawless as possible. Her knowledge and compassionate care builds patient confidence and trust.

Krystyna Fitros

Krystyna Fitros, BA, CMA, CPT/IVF Coordinator
Krystyna Fitros, BA, CMA, CPT, has had more than eight years experience as an IVF clinical coordinator, clinical administrator, and office manager before joining our staff in February 2001. As a member of our IVF team, Krystyna coordinates clinical IVF services and assists our patients during their pre-IVF evaluation and IVF procedures. She is bilingual - speaks fluent Polish - which is especially appreciated by our Polish-speaking patients. Krystyna's experience and dedication, as well as her warm and compassionate personality, win our patients' trust, confidence, and appreciation.

Heather Hobbs

Heather Hobbs, RN, BSN
Heather Hobbs, RN, BSN, graduated from Valparaiso University in Indiana with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Heather's nursing experience includes obstetrical/gynecological nursing, medical/surgical nursing, and diabetes care. Heather joined OBFC in early 2004 as a Staff Nurse. Heather's extensive, well-rounded nursing background and warm professional manner are appreciated by the patients with whom she comes into contact.

Ivonne Rodriguez

Ivonne Rodriguez, Nursing Assistant
Ivonne Rodriguez, our Nursing Assistant, has been working in the field of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility since 1998. Ivonne served her country in the Army Medical Corp. between 1994 and 2001 and provided medical relief following natural disasters to people of Central and South America. She is presently attending Triton College to complete her Registered Nursing degree. Ivonne is fluent in Spanish and has been an important asset to our practice.


Nursing Staff Credentials

A skilled, well-trained, and compassionate Nursing Staff is a prerequisite for the success of any medical facility. At OBFC, our nurses are required to continue their education and to acquire new skills and new areas of expertise in the field. Our Nursing Staff participates in the activities of the Chicago Association of Reproductive Endocrinologists (CARE) and the Chicago Institute of ART (CIA) and attends other local meetings and seminars. Our nurses are also actively involved in the annual meetings and postgraduate courses given by the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and other professional organizations to which they belong. They also take formal training courses in pelvic sonography and participate in the annual meetings of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM).

Our Nursing Staff are Registered Nurses with:

  • Extensive experience and certification in Reproductive Endocrinology Nursing
  • Extensive experience and certification in pelvic sonography (RDMS)
